Sitapur/ Lucknow, 24 March (HS) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that the state will be Tuberculosis (TB) free before 2025. He said that the World Health Organisation (WHO) however, has set the goal of making the world TB free by 2030 but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged eliminate it by 2025 and Uttar Pradesh will fulfil his resolve.
Addressing a gathering on the World Tuberculosis Day here on Wednesday CM Yogi urged the people in general and ministers and lawmakers in particular to adopt a TB patient each and help in achieving the target to make the state free from TB by 2025.
“You do not need to keep the child at home. All a person needs to do is to keep a check on the child,” said the CM. Post-adoption, each TB patient will be entitled to Rs 500 per month for a nutritious diet and the cash amount will be directly transferred to the patient’s account, he added.
CM Yogi also appealed to the people of the state to complete a full course of TB treatment, which is absolutely free in the state. If the treatment course is for 300 days then breaking a course after 100 days is equivalent to feasting on the disease.
Similarly, to combat poliomyelitis, the Yogi-led BJP Government launched the largest ever mass immunisation campaign against polio, targeting 3.40 crore children.
The Chief Minister, on Tuesday, virtually inaugurated regional RTPMU established in Gorakhpur and honoured the District Tuberculosis Officers of the five districts. The names who were given the letter of honour include Pradeep Varshney of Rampur, Vinod Agarwal of Sonbhadra, Narendra Singh from Unnao, Deenanath Mishra from Chandauli, and Vivek Srivastava from Maharajganj.
Foundation Stone Laid For Drug Warehouses
The foundation stone was laid for the construction of drug warehouses in 21 districts including Sitapur, Mirzapur, Sambhal, Pratapgarh, Hapur, Ballia, etc. Also, the CM said that Drugs Store Centers will be built in Fatehpur, Basti, Rae Bareli, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Barabanki, and Varanasi.
451 TrueNet machines
The CM also inaugurated 25 Digital X-ray machines and 451 Truenat machines which will increase the COVID testing in the state and launched LPA (Line Probe Assay) labs established in Gorakhpur and Meerut.
Over 70,000 houses built in Sitapur
Yogi in Sitapur said that making a record, the UP Government has constructed as many as 7,01,594 houses till March 1, 2021, under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Out of which, as many as 70,000 houses were constructed in Sitapur itself.
All Above 45 To Get Inoculated From April 1
The Chief Minister while addressing a gathering at Suraicha village on Wednesday also said that the Government of India has opened up its COVID-19 vaccination drive for people above 45 years of age. All eligible should immediately get registered and get vaccinated.
Everyone should stringently adhere to the COVID-19 protocol. There is no restriction on the celebration of festivals, but everyone should be made aware of the spread of COVID-19. “COVID-19 vaccines have come, but corona hasn’t finished yet. It takes time to develop anti-bodies. Till then, precautions are must,” said CM Yogi.
Decisive Battle Against Coronavirus
Despite having a weak health infrastructure, UP’s management strategy especially tracking high-risk contacts helped the state step up the fight against the deadly coronavirus. As a result, the recovery rate has now reached 95 percent. This had become possible only because of effective health management and exemplary teamwork, he said.
