UP police register FIR in Mukhtar Ansari ambulance case
Lucknow, 02 April (HS) : The UP police on Friday registered an FIR in Barabanki against Dr Alka Rai and others after gangster – turned – politician Mukhtar Ansari used a luxury ambulance in Punjab for court visit.
According to the police the FIR was lodged by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Barabanki after the matter came to limelight that the ambulance being used by Mukhtar Ansari in Punjab bearing registration number UP-41, AT-7171 was found to be registered in Barabanki on fake documents.
Police sources said that the ambulance was bought by the henchmen of Mukhtar Ansari in the name of Shyam Sanjeevani Hospital from Ansari’s MLA fund. An investigation to this effect is on, said a police officer.
Meanwhile, the former Director General of UP Police and presently BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Brij lal claims that the ambulance being used by Mukhtar Ansari has been turned into a luxury and bulletproof vehicle. Besides, it is equipped with satellite phones, portable fridge, TV and other luxury items, he said.
