UP MLC poll : BJP releases list of six more candidates
Lucknow, 16 January (HS) : The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the second list of party candidates for MLC poll in Uttar Pradesh. Ealier the party had announced the names of four candidates.
The second list issued from the BJP head quarters, New Delhi included six names- Govind Narayan Shukla, Kunwar Manvendra Singh, Salil Bishnoi, Ashwini Tyagi, Dr Dharmaveer Prajapati and Surendra Chaudhary.
The name of other four candidates whose candidature were announced earlier includes BJP’s state unit head Swatantra Dev Singh, Dy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma, former IAS officer of Gujarat cadre Arvind Kr Sharma and Luxmana Acharya.
With release of second list the BJP has so far announced the names of 10 candidates. Polling for 12 MLC seats will be conducted in UP on January 28. The last date of nomination is January 18. Two candidates of Samajwadi Party, Ahmed Hasan and Rajendra Chaudhary filed their nomination papers on Friday.
