UP : Get medical consultation from KGMU experts at home

Lucknow,  23 April  (HS) :       The online OPD service e-Sanjeevani has proven to be a great success even as King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow has been playing a major role in CM Yogi Adityanath’s fight against Corona.

About 23 specialist doctors of KGMU are providing medical consultation to patients online and have extended tele-consultation to over 1500 people since April 10.

     On the initiative of CM Yogi, KGMU’s specialty OPD was launched recently on the Sanjeevani app. Now, the common people can consult expert doctors through e-Sanjeevani OPD app or Google Chrome. Expert doctors of KGMU are advising the patients from 9 am to 2 pm from Monday to Saturday. The experts are drawn from the departments of medicine, respiratory medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, cardiovascular disease, surgery, psychiatry, dermatology, bone and joint disease, ophthalmology, ENT and dental among various specialities of KGMU.

Dr. Sheetal Verma, the nodal Incharge of Tele Medicine Hub of KGMU, says that the KGMU’s Specialist OPD had been met with success and most of the cases were of Corona. “We are giving them treatment through e-preion. Due to individual treatment of each patient, the number of beneficiaries is increasing, ” she said.

Over 42.81 lakh people in the country took services of tele-medicine

According to a spokesperson of the state government Tele Consultation was started in UP in July last year through e-Sanjeevani App. So far, a total of 42.81 lakh people have availed this facility in the country. Similarly, till date more than 7.65 lakh people have been given medical counseling through tele-consultation in Uttar Pradesh, he said adding that in April alone, as many as 75,857 people have availed this facility so far.
