UP film project making steady progress
Lucknow, September 28(HS) The UP film city proposal is making a steady progress. A multinational company has been appointed to prepare a Detailed Project Report which has taken the job in right earnest.
The DPR may be submitted within ten days.Noted film director Nitin Desai who was asked to make other suggestions may also submit his report soon.
Various suggestions are already under government’s consideration.One of them is to change the name from Film City to Enforcement City as it will be engaged in several other activities,other than film making.
The propsed City willl have studios, processing units and other
facilities in addition to hotels and food courts.
The city may be built on PPP model. Alternatively,the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority may construct it with government assistance.The final call may be taken next month.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has already agreed to provide 1000 acres of land to the project between Agra and Delhi.
A top official of the CMO visited the area yesterday and found it suitable. It is likely to remove other hurdles soon.
Some top film artistes, producers and directors have met CM here last week and promised to extend full support because of turmoil in film industry in Mumbai. That has also provided
encouragement.
