UP CM reviews situation, provides more relief, as numbers of infested persons rise
Lucknow, March 30 (HS) A slew of measures have been taken to provide relief to workers in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, bordering Delhi, where a large number of positive Coronovirus cases have been detected.
Alarmed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting on Monday to review the situation prevailing there.The number of Corona-infested persons has crossed 30, the highest in a district in the state.Overall, the number in the state is yet below 100, which is about ten per cent of the total in the country. There has been no death from the disease in the state so far.
The measures include 28-day paid leave to workers who were infested by Corona and are quarantined either at a hospital or in a house.Shops, industrial installations and factories closed due to the lockdown will have to give wages to daily worker for the closure period .
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already transferred Rs 611 crore to accounts of workers in the state under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.The beneficiaries total 27.5 lakh.The amount was due to be paid to them for work during the year.
Earlier, the government had provided cash assistance of Rs 1000 each to daily wager to lessen the burden created by the Virus.
Next month they will be given three months’ ration.Antyodaya card holders and people covered by food security scheme will also benefit.
