UP Assembly witnesses uproar over farmers’ issue
Lucknow, 19 February (HS) : The budget session of UP Assembly on the second day witnessed uproar over farmers’ issue on Friday. CM Yogi Adityanath on the occasion said that the opposition is provoking the farmers against the three farm laws.
As soon as the proceedings of the assembly started on the second day, the MLAs of opposition parties started raising slogans demanding discussion on farmers’s issue. Leader of opposition Ramgovind Chaudhary also raised the issue.
Following the uproar in the house the speaker Hridaya Narayan Dixit adjourned the house for 30 minutes.
Later Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the new farm laws are for the welfare of the farmers. He said that the provisions of the farm laws allow the farmers to sell their produce anywhere other than the mandis. Since this provision is not in favour of middlemen and their political masters, they are inciting farmers to protest against the laws.
The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly began here on Thursday with Governor Anandiben Patel’s address to a joint sitting of both the houses. The session will continue till March 10. The Yogi Government will present its budget for financial year of 2021-22 in both the houses on February 22.
