Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate 34 road projects in Madhya Pradesh
New Delhi, 16 September (H.S): Madhya Pradesh is going to get a gift of 34 road projects costing Rs.11 thousand crore today. The union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 34 road projects of 1356 km length in a function organized under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday evening at Brilliant Convention Center in Indore. The State Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargava and Minister of State for Public Works Suresh Dhakad will also be present in the program.
Giving information about this, an official said that many ministers, MPs and MLAs of the Central and State Government will participate in the program. Simultaneously, an MoU will also be signed between the Central and State Governments for the construction of a Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Indore. This program is being organized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, National Highways Authority of India and Public Works Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, said the official.
According to the schedule, union Minister Nitin Gadkari will reach Javra in Ratlam district on Thursday. After taking stock of the construction work of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway there, he will proceed to Indore to attend the program organized at Brilliant Convention Center there. Gadkari will leave for Vadodara (Gujarat) the next day on September 17.
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is the most ambitious project under the Bharat Mala Project connecting the country’s capital Delhi with the country’s commercial capital Mumbai. The Government of India has sanctioned an amount of 90 thousand crore rupees for the construction of this route with a total length of 1356 km. The project is targeted to be completed by January 2023. This national highway will pass through Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The 245 km area of the project will enter the state of Gujarat near the Anas river, passing through Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua districts, entering Madhya Pradesh from Ramganj Mandi in Rajasthan. As much as 11,183 crore will be spent on construction of 245 km expressway in the state. The construction work of expressway is being done at a fast pace in the state. This expressway will prove to be a boon in the development of Madhya Pradesh. Along with Jhabua, Ratlam, Mandsaur, the border districts of the state, Ujjain, Indore will also be able to connect directly to Delhi and Mumbai. Rapid development of economic development activities will be possible in the vicinity of the expressway. In the program, MoU will also be signed between the Central and State Governments for the construction of Multi Modal Logistic Park in Indore. The program is being organized jointly by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, National Highways Authority of India and Public Works Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
With the strengthening of the road network, the development of industries will get a new direction. Entrepreneurs will come to Madhya Pradesh in large numbers for investment. New employment opportunities will be created. Tourism will also get a boost. In the program 14 road projects will be inaugurated and foundation stone of 20 projects will be laid. During the program, the foundation stone of the state’s first multi-modal logistics park will be laid under the ambitious Bharat Mala project of the Government of India. A contract will be signed between the Center and the state government for setting up a 150-acre multi-modal logistic park near Machal village on the Indore to Jhabua road. This logistic park will be built on the BOT formula. With the creation of Logistic Park, it will be easy to send goods produced in Madhya Pradesh to other states and outside the country.
