Ukraine strikes Moscow with massive drone attack; 1 dead, 3 injured

Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on Moscow, killing one and injuring three. The assault, its largest in 2025, hit residential areas, forcing evacuations. Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported damage to seven apartments, while Moscow’s mayor confirmed minor destruction to a building’s roof and a fire in a parking lot.
Flights at three Moscow airports were restricted, and Domodedovo railway station halted trains. Russia’s defense ministry claimed to have intercepted 337 Ukrainian drones, including 91 over Moscow.
The attack came just before the OSCE secretary general’s visit to Moscow and ahead of Ukraine-US talks in Saudi Arabia on ending the three-year conflict. In February, US and Russian officials met in Riyadh to discuss ties and potential war resolutions.
Tensions escalated between former US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after their February 28 Oval Office meeting. The US suspended military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
Trump warned Russia of major banking sanctions and tariffs if aggression continued. He urged both nations to negotiate, writing on Truth Social, “To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!”
