Udalguri administration gears up for filling claims
UDALGURI, June 28 ( HS ): The Udalguri district administration of Assam was taken initiative  to complete the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) updates process during the mentioned period accordingly. So, a few directions have been issued by the administration for the people whose name was excluded in the additional list as they will be able to file claims again.

In a press release, Dilip Kumar Das, District Magistrate cum District Registrar of Citizen Registration, Udalguri, said that the additional (exclusion) list has been already made available for public viewing in the NRC Seva Kendras. The additional list has the names of such persons included in the complete Draft NRC published on July 30, 2018, but who were later found ineligible in course of verification. The additional list will be available for inspection by the public in Udalguri district up to July 11 during the working hours in the following places like office of the Deputy Commissioner, Office of the SDO (Civil) of Bhergaon, Office of the all Circle Officers of Udalguri district and all designated NSKs. Applicants whose names figure in the additional list will also be informed through a letter of information (LOI) to be delivered to them at their respective addresses. LOIs will contain the details of the Disposing Officer before whom the applicant can submit his claim for inclusion in the Final NRC. The LOI will also contain the reason for rejection (or the reason for their names being included in the additional list of exclusion) along with details of venue, date and time for submission of such claims. The disposal of the claims by way of holding hearing by the Disposing Officer will take place along with the process of submission of the claims. The District Magistrate has also requested the people to note that – (1) only those applicants who are enlisted in the additional list of exclusion will be eligible to file claim, (2) Claims can only be submitted at the venues specified in the LOI (3) the Final NRC will contain particulars of only those persons born up to the date of submission of application form up to August 31, 2015, (4) children born after August 31, 2015 cannot be included through claims. Further those who had failed to apply within August 31, 2015 are not entitled to file claims.
