Two terrorists gunned down in Bandipora district Sunday morning
New Delhi, 26 September (H.S): Two terrorists were killed by the security forces in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Watnira area of Bandipora district since Sunday morning. It is believed that more terrorists are still hiding in the circle of security forces.
According to the information, security forces started a search operation to nab the terrorists in Watnira area of Bandipora on Sunday morning. During this, the terrorists hiding in the area started firing on the security forces. After which the security forces retaliated encounter started. Security forces have killed two terrorists in the encounter.
The security forces have completely evacuated the surrounding areas. The encounter between the security forces and the terrorists was going on till the filing of the news.
Last night also, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in an encounter with terrorists in Uri sector of Baramulla district late on Saturday night. During this, three army personnel were also injured during shootout. In view of the possibility of presence of other terrorists in the area, combing operation is going on in the entire area.
According to the information, army personnel saw some terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rampur area of Uri sector on Saturday night. The soldiers challenged the terrorists and asked them to surrender but they started firing after which the security forces also had to retaliate. During the encounter, the terrorists fired rifle grenades at the jawans.
The injured jawans were immediately rushed to the Military Hospital for treatment. Security forces continued the search operation on Monday due to the possibility of other terrorists in Uri sector.
