New Delhi, 30th Sept. : President Donald Trump has created a plan with 20 solid points to stop the armed conflict in Gaza between IDF and Hamas. The news is not good for the leaders and supporters of Hamas as it directs the complete exit of Hamas from the area.
Before looking into the 20 points, let’s just understand what this provides for the people of Israel and Gaza. The “plan” reaffirms the two-state solution, it talks about the development of Gaza and Gazans, creation of Special Economic Zones, investments from all around the world. The biggest point is complete deactivation of Hamas and any other groups affiliated with Hamas and its leaders in the administration of Gaza. It also talks about starting a conversation with the values of peace and tolerance, mediated by the United States of America, which would focus on inter-religion peace and stability. The plan also talks about the release of Israeli prisoners from Gaza and when each Israeli prisoner dead or alive is released, then Israel would do the same. Israel would be releasing 1700 residents of Gaza which is about 15 times the number of Israeli prisoners.

With all this context, let’s now look at all the 20 points being circulated by President Trump, as a full-proof solution to this conflict:

  1. Gaza should become an area with no radical and terrorism influence; it must prove to its neighbours that they won’t be attacked or would be in danger of any attacks ever again.
  2. The whole of Gaza would be re-developed for the people of Gaza who have suffered the most.
  3. If the both the parties agree on this resolution, the war would stop. Israeli forces would back down, and the prisoners would be released. All the military operations including air-to-air, air-to-surface and surface-to-surface bombing would be ceased during this process.
  4. After the public acceptance of this resolution by Israel, all the prisoners would be returned to Israel within the first 72 hours, it includes the bodies of prisoners who died in the Gazan prison.
  5. After all its prisoners are released, Israel would then release the 250 inmates facing life-imprisonment and 1700 Gaza residents captured by IDF after 7th October 2023. Israel would also release the dead bodies of the captured who have died since. Israel would 15 prisoners for 1 of theirs.
  6. The Hams fighters who want to surrender will be pardoned once prisoners are released by both the sides; the commanders who wants to leave Gaza would be given passage to leave.
  7. Once the resolution is accepted, Gaza would get immediate support from the outside world which would include funds, development initiatives, etc. The clearing of debris, reopening/reconstruction of roads and hospitals, will all take place simultaneously
  8. United Nations and the initiatives associated with the UN will be provided free access to Gaza to provide amenities. Institutions which were unbiased in the conflict will also be able to start relief work in Gaza.
  9. A non-political Palestinian committee will take control over the administration of Gaza on an interim basis. It will include meritorious Palestinians with some international experts. This committee will be the in charge of the fulfilment of all the daily needs of the Gazans.
  10. The development plan of Gaza will be created by experts with prior experiences of working in the middle east. Some international institutions could be given responsibilities for the monitoring. The focus of this plan is to create employment opportunities in Gaza.
  11. A “Special Economic Zone (SEC)” will be created in Gaza which would have different businesses set up and will receive tariffs reduced from different countries around the world.
  12. No one would be forced to leave Gaza, if someone wants to leave on their own volition, he/she won’t be stopped and will be assured a right to come back anytime they want.
  13. Hamas and/or any groups associated with Hamas will have no role in any administration control of Gaza. All the infrastructure created by Hamas will be demolished, which includes the tunnels as well.
  14. It will be guaranteed that Hamas will never be active again; No neighbouring country shall ever feel any danger coming from Gaza again.
  15. An “International Stabilising Force (ISF)” will be instated in Gaza on a provisional basis which will be created by USA and the neighbouring Arab countries; it will be commissioned with the ceasefire.
  16. Israel will not try to absorb Gaza; there will be no plans of any merger. IDF will back out of every part of Gaza.
  17. ISF will replace IDF in Gaza.
  18. An inter-religion dialog will start between Gaza and Israel on the values of peace and tolerance.
  19. A referendum may be conducted after the development of Gaza bank
  20. The United States of America will facilitate a dialog between Israel and Palestine which will work on the long-term peace and stability between the two nations.

This resolution talks about the two-state solution and reaffirms the stance of peace and tolerance in the Gaza bank. Many international institutions have talked about this 20 point resolution, stating it would be signed in the coming few days and/or weeks.
