Trump denied any US role in Bangladesh’s crisis and urged PM Modi to address the issue. During a White House press briefing after bilateral talks, Trump dismissed claims of US involvement, stating that Modi had been handling the matter.
India remains concerned about Bangladesh’s instability, especially after Sheikh Hasina’s government collapsed in August 2024. Protests and border disputes have strained relations between the two countries. India’s Foreign Secretary confirmed that Modi and Trump discussed the situation, emphasizing the need for stability.
