Tragedy Strikes: Six dead in 2 truck collisions in Madhya Pradesh
Tragedy struck Madhya Pradesh on Thursday as six people died in two separate truck accidents. The incidents occurred in Umaria and Bhind districts, leaving behind a trail of grief and shattered lives.
The first accident took place in Umaria around 7:30 am. Police reported a collision between two speeding trucks on National Highway 43, near an eatery in the Pali area, 38 km from the district headquarters. One truck was traveling from Shahdol to Umaria, while the other was headed in the opposite direction. The collision claimed the lives of three women traveling in the Umaria-bound truck, who died instantly. A man in the second truck also died from injuries sustained in the crash at a district hospital. Another person was injured in the incident. Police are still working to identify the victims, said Pali police station house officer Madan Lal Marabi.
Later in the day, another fatal crash occurred in Bhind district at 1:30 am. This time, two truck drivers were involved in a deadly collision near Kheria Bagh village. One truck, loaded with paddy, was on its way to Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, while the other, carrying vegetables, was headed toward Etawah city in Uttar Pradesh. Both drivers, identified as Devendra Singh Meena (33) and Luvkush Kushwaha (40), died on the spot.
The accidents highlight the dangers of speeding and the need for better safety measures on highways. Authorities continue to investigate both incidents as they work to prevent such tragedies in the future.
