HDFC Bank emerged as the biggest loser, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) claimed the top gainer spot. The IT sector’s strong performance enabled HCL Technologies to rejoin the top 10 list, pushing Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) out.

Among the losers, HDFC Bank’s market cap dropped by ₹70,479 crore to ₹12.67 lakh crore. ITC saw a loss of ₹46,481 crore, ending at ₹5.56 lakh crore. SBI’s market cap fell by ₹44,635 crore to ₹6.63 lakh crore. Reliance Industries lost ₹12,179 crore, settling at ₹16.81 lakh crore, while ICICI Bank declined by ₹11,877 crore to ₹8.81 lakh crore.

Conversely, TCS led the gainers, adding ₹60,168 crore to reach ₹15.43 lakh crore. HCL Technologies gained ₹13,120 crore, increasing its market cap to ₹5.41 lakh crore. Bharti Airtel added ₹8,999 crore to its valuation, ending at ₹9.19 lakh crore, and Hindustan Unilever gained ₹8,564 crore, closing at ₹5.73 lakh crore.

The declines coincided with broader market trends. The BSE Sensex fell by 1,844 points (2.32%), while the NSE Nifty dropped 573 points (2.38%) during the week. Despite the dip, Reliance Industries remained India’s most valuable company with a market cap of ₹16.81 lakh crore.

Following Reliance, the top 10 rankings were: TCS (₹15.43 lakh crore), HDFC Bank (₹12.67 lakh crore), Bharti Airtel (₹9.19 lakh crore), ICICI Bank (₹8.81 lakh crore), Infosys (₹8.16 lakh crore), SBI (₹6.63 lakh crore), Hindustan Unilever (₹5.73 lakh crore), ITC (₹5.56 lakh crore), and HCL Technologies (₹5.41 lakh crore).

This week’s trading highlights the volatile nature of markets, with gains in the IT sector offsetting losses in banking and consumer stocks.
