TMC MP plays Bengali card
Shrirampur, June 28 (HS) TMC MP from Shrirampur Kalyan Banerjee on Sunday called the BJP ‘an anti-Bengali party’ controlled by non-Bengalis. Kalyan Banerjee, after inaugurating a newly constructed road at Shrirampur on Sunday said, ” BJP is an anti-Bengali party. It is controlled by non Bengalis.”
The BJP raised strong objection against the TMC MP’s statement. Shyamal Bose, president of Shrirampur organisational district of the BJP, slammed the TMC MP Kalyan Banarjee for making such a statement and said, “The BJP in West Bengal has won 18 Lok Sabha seats, most of which come from Bengali dominant areas. Thus, the TMC MP’s allegation does not stand. We have seen how the TMC tried to divide people in the name of religion in the past and now they are trying to divide people in the name of language foreseeing the approaching assembly elections in the state,” he added
