Three terrorists killed in encounter at Shopian

Shopian, May 6(HS): Security forces have killed three terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian in an encounter and one terrorist surrendered. Security forces said the Operation launched in Kanigam, Shopian by joint operation by police and security forces early morning based specific inputs. Reports said the area was cordoned but terrorists opened fire – firefight ensued and despite multiple appeals for surrender were made by security forces and family members of trapped terrorists. However, restraint was exercised to avoid any collateral damage but one terrorist surrendered and three terrorists killed. All four were recent recruits into terrorism. Security forces have recovered four pistols.
