The Supreme Court agrees to hear the petition filed on encephalitis in Muzaffarpur
New Delhi, Jun. 19 (HS): The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petition filed on the death of more than 130 children from encephalitis in Muzaffarpur (Bihar). Court will hear the petition on June 24.
Petition has been filed by Supreme Court lawyer Manohar Pratap and Sanpreet Singh Ajani. In petition court intervention has been sought accusing the state government of negligence.
It is stated in the petition that the court should issue guidelines for providing 500 ICUs, 100 mobile ICUs to Muzaffarpur and providing adequate number of doctors. The petition has also sought compensation for the families of dead children.
