Telangana tunnel collapse: 6 Workers trapped, rescue ops on

Rescue teams rushed to Nagarkurnool, Telangana, on Saturday after a roof collapsed in the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, trapping at least six workers. Officials fear more may be inside.
The collapse occurred 12-13 km inside the tunnel while workers were on-site. Authorities received an alert and mobilized immediate relief efforts.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock and directed the district collector, police, fire services, and Hyderabad Disaster Response Agency (HYDRAA) to handle the situation. Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and officials flew to the site by helicopter.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also called for urgent rescue efforts and medical aid for the injured.
Meanwhile, opposition leader KT Rama Rao blamed the Congress government for negligence. He criticized CM Reddy, alleging contractor collusion, poor supervision, and compromised safety standards.
