‘Tandav’ issue, UP police leave for Mumbai to interrogate director & others
Lucknow, 18 January (HS) : A four member team of UP Police on Monday left for Mumbai to investigate the matter related to the ‘Web series Tandav’ and interrogate its director, writer and others.
The Hazaratganj police on Sunday night had registered an FIR in this connection against Ali Abbas Zafar, the director and Gaurav Solanki, the writer of the web series ‘Tandav’. The names of Amazon Prime’s India head of original content Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra and another one person have also been included in the FIR.
According to the FIR the web series ‘Tandav’ allegedly depict the Hindu Gods in a bad light which could lead to religious flare-up.
It may be mentioned here that protest against the web series ‘Tandav’ is on across the state. The FIR also mentions that during surveillance of social media it was found that there were angry outburst against the content of the web series.
