Sydney Test: Three Indian batsmen run out in the first innings of a Test match for the first time
New Delhi, January 09 (HS). On the third day of the third Test match being played against Australia in Sydney, India’s first innings was reduced to 244 runs. In the Indian innings, three batsmen Hanuma Vihari, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah were run out. With this, a unique record was added to the Indian team. This is the first time that three Indian batsmen have been run out in the first innings of a Test match.
However this is the seventh time that three or more Indian batsmen have been run out in an innings of a Test. Earlier, three Indian batsmen Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman were run out during the second innings of the second Test match played against England in Mohali in 2008-09.
Talking about the Sydney Test, India scored 244 runs on the third day of the third Test, losing all wickets in their first innings. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara scored half-centuries for India. At the same time, Rishabh Pant scored 36 and Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with 28 runs.
Australia got a lead of 94 runs on the basis of first innings. Australia had scored 338 runs in their first innings.
