Sustain the success in containing CORONA virus infection in UP : CM Yogi

Lucknow, 05 February (HS) :Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that all measures should be continued to maintain the success achieved by the state in containing the infection rate of Covid-19. He said that even a little carelessness in this regard could prove costly, the Chief Minister added that it is necessary to maintain complete vigilance in view of this. He has also issued instructions to maintain an effective system for prevention and the treatment of Covid-19.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the unlock arrangements at a meeting at Lok Bhawan. He said that medical testing work in relation to Covid-19 should be conducted with full capacity in the state. It should be ensured that the contact tracing and surveillance system works effectively, he added.

Arrangements of Covid hospitals should be maintained properly, he said and emphasised the sustained need to make the public aware of the rescue from Covid-19. The Chief Minister obtained information about the activities conducted in the state under the Corona Vaccination Campaign.

He said that health workers and corona frontline workers should be vaccinated according to the prescribed order. It was informed in the meeting that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to vaccinate more than five lakh people. Today, along with vaccination of health workers, vaccination of corona frontline workers has also been started. Covid vaccination mop-up campaign for all the missed health workers will be conducted on 15th February.

The Chief Minister said that action should be taken to start teaching work in educational institutions as per the guidelines of the Government of India. First of all, classes should be conducted in higher and secondary educational institutions. After this, the operation of classroom should be started in all other schools, he said.

The CM also said that several health-related announcements have been made in the Union Budget for the year 2021-22. He directed the State Government to prepare proposals in the order of these announcements. He said that due to widespread use of technology in the Corona period, better services and relief were provided to the public in various fields.

In view of this, he stressed on strengthening health services. He said that effective action should be taken to strengthen health services through assimilation of technology. The Chief Minister directed to speed up the construction work of new medical colleges.

He said that along with the construction of new medical colleges, the process of providing various resources in these institutions should be reviewed regularly. The Chief Minister also added that a policy should be prepared for taking action in a planned manner in connection with the establishment of medical colleges in 16 districts without medical colleges.

Tiwari, Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Police Hitesh C. Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary MSME & Information Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister Mr. S.P. Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mr. Amit Mohan Prasad, Information Director Mr. Shishir and other senior officers were present in the review meeting.
