Suspended IPS officer Arvind Sen surrenders before court in Lucknow
Lucknow, 27 January (HS) : Suspended IPS officer Arvind Sen surrendered before a court in Lucknow here on Wednesday. He has been sent to the judicial custody till February 9.
Arvind Sen was declared as an absconder and the police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest after his name came to light in a multi crore tender scam in the Animal Husbandry Department of Uttar Pradesh Government.
The court had also ordered attachment of Arvind Sen’s property and the police was preparing to attach his property. In order to avoid the process of attachment the suspended IPS officer has filed a surrender application in the court.
Sen was charged with extracting crores of rupees from a businessman of Madhya Pradesh by floating a fake tender in the name of Animal Husbandry Department in 2018. Police have arrested 13 persons in this connection so far.
