Samba, March 15 (HS): Congress leaders under the leadership of JKPCC Vice President Raman Bhalla and JKPCC Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma on Monday took out a protest march against BJP government in Samba. Congress activists with placards in their hands raising slogans against the central government took out huge protest March in the main Bazar of Samba covering different lanes and bylanes during the protest. Protesters claimed inflation has broken the back of the common man and the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas are touching the sky. Bhalla claimed that countdown to the BJP’s ouster in J&K has already with result of recently concluded DDC elections and the support of the people for the Congress will definitely bring a new dawn in J&K, he said. Bhalla demanded that the BJP government should provide immediate relief to people from the rising prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. Petrol and diesel prices have been raised relentlessly and all the BJP luminaries who protested vociferously and wittily about oil prices during the UPA rule are now silent. They are seeking to explain how it is not the government’s fault because crude prices are rising while the rupee is falling against the dollar or how the increased excise duties on petrol and diesel are helping in social programmes and infrastructure development. ‘The way petrol, diesel and gas prices have increased is appalling. Cooking gas is also dearer as petrol and diesel prices continue to rise, thus people are being squeezed by the government for money.
