South African female cricketer Liezel Lee postpones her marriage due to coronavirus
Johannesburg,03 April(HS): South African female cricketer Liezel Lee has postponed her marriage due to the ongoing lockdown to prevent the coronavirus epidemic from spreading.
Liezel Lee was to be married to her fiancé Tanja Cronje on 10 April. Both have been engaged before, both have known each other for almost four years. After this affair which lasted for years, both of them finally decided to get married, but due to Corona, their marriage was postponed.
After the lockdown and postponement of her marriage in the country, Liezel is still spending time with her parents. In such a situation, now after this epidemic, Liezel will take a decision on the next date of marriage.
Notably, Liezel Lee and Tanja are not the first lesbian pair in African cricket history. Last year, the wedding of two South African women cricketers, Wayne Nikerk and Maurijen Cape, was also in the news.
The same-sex marriage of Wayne Nikerk and Maurijen Cape came to the limelight when the entire women’s South African team went to attend the wedding of the two in July 2018. Cape later caused a stir by releasing wedding photos on her official Instagram. Apart from Wayne and Cape, among the current international players, Amy Satterthwaite and Lee Tahuhu of New Zealand have also married in the same-sex.
