South Africa announced team for one day series against India
New Delhi, March 2 (HS): South Africa announced a fifteen member squad for the upcoming three match one day series against India. Former captain Faf Du Plessis and Rassie van der made a comeback in the side, which were rested in the ongoing three match series against Australia. Cricket South Africa in a recent tweet said, “Tabraiz Shamsi was not available for selection, as he and his wife Khadija are anticipating the imminent birth of their first-born child.” Left arm spin bowler George Linde received his maiden ODI call-up in the squad.
The first match of the three match series will be held on March 12 at Dharamsala. The second one day will be played on March 15 at Lucknow and the final one day of the series will be held on March 17 at Kolkata.
India are yet to announce their squad for the series. Premier fast bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and All rounder Hardik Pandya are expected to select in the squad, as they are all set to make a comeback in the national side.
South Africa squad for the series against India include Quinton de Kock (c, wk), Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, Faf du Plessis, Kyle Verreynne, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Jon-Jon Smuts, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lungi Ngidi, Lutho Sipamla, Beuran Hendricks, Anrich Nortje, George Linde and Keshav Maharaj.
