Sonam Kapoor prioritizes nutrition and a solid haircare routine to maintain her long, healthy locks. In a recent interview, she shared her secrets to keeping her hair strong despite frequent styling and heat exposure.

She loves having long hair because it makes her feel like herself. “I follow a strict diet to prevent hair fall,” she said, emphasizing the importance of eating well for hair health.

Kapoor relies on preventive products to nourish and protect her hair. She never skips applying serum after towel-drying her hair. “Even if I condition it, I apply a little serum on the ends to lock in moisture and prevent damage,” she revealed. Conditioner and serum are her go-to solutions for frizz control.

Her biggest hair mistake? Perming her hair for a film. “It fried my hair. I wasn’t guided well, and it took me five years to regrow it,” she admitted. Since then, she has been more cautious with hair treatments.

Sonam’s Haircare Routine

She shampoos twice before applying conditioner below the ear, leaving the roots untouched. “A trick I learned is to squeeze out excess water before conditioning. Then, I hand comb my hair, towel dry again, and apply serum and heat protectant before styling,” she explained.

She also loves using bows and hairbands, a habit she picked up while filming Aisha.

Namika Kant, a technical expert at Envi Salons, highlighted that perming chemically alters hair structure and can cause severe damage if done incorrectly. She praised Kapoor’s use of serums and oils, which hydrate hair, lock in moisture, and reduce split ends.

“Heat protection sprays are essential for minimizing heat damage,” Kant added. However, she warned against over-washing and stressed using professional-grade shampoos and conditioners to combat dryness.

Sonam’s commitment to haircare proves that the right routine, proper nutrition, and expert advice can keep hair healthy despite frequent styling.
