Shivraj pays tribute to those who fought Emergency
Bhopal, June 25 (HS) June 25 will be remembered as a black day in the history of the country as the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency on this day in 1975. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, paid tributes to the leaders and activists who stood up against Emergency through social media.
In his tweet on Thursday, he said, Emergency came into force on this day in 1975. I am sharing a few lines of the poet Nagarjuna- ‘You felt the blood of the students, someone was hurt, you were lighter than the flower, you understood the sin of murder Indu ji, Indu ji, what happened you!’
In his next tweet, he said- “This country, colored with diverse colors and ideas, has never bowed nor will it bow.” There will be no emergency enforcers and there will be no perverted mindset. Congressmen still consider themselves as special, this sense of understanding others as common and special, if not changed now, this country will change them. The country did not forget those cruel tortures of emergency even today, but the country will move forward. With the resolve that nation upliftment is our first religion. A humble tribute at the feet of great souls who gave their lives to save the soul of India. ‘
