Shahrukh wanted for brandishing pistol on cop, nabbed

New Delhi, March 3 (HS): Mohammed Shahrukh, the person wanted for pointing gun on the Delhi Police personnel and allegedly killing a number of people in violent clashes that took place in North-East district of Delhi, has been arrested by the crime branch from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.

Shahrukh’s videos and images of waving a gun at Delhi Police personnel in the Jaffrabad-Maujpur area last Monday went viral in media. In the pictures Shahrukh could be seen waiving and firing indiscriminately on people during clashes between the two groups.

Shahrukh had been absconding ever since the incident last week. He reportedly fired eight rounds on rival group in the clash. Now the police have confirmed that Shahrukh has finally been arrested from Bareilly in UP.

Violence took place in North-East Delhi for 3 days since February 23 and continued till February 25 night. Sporadic incidents were reported even a day later. During the clashes, as many as 47 persons were killed and more than 200 persons were critically injured. Besides, property worth crores was gutted in fire. Delhi Police constable Ratan Lal, IB official Ankit Sharma were also among killed.
