New Delhi, Jan 23 (HS): The Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairying Sanjeev Balyan Thursday said that 10 percent seats should be fixed for the students from Western Uttar Pradesh in the Jamia Milia Islamia University and the Jawaharlal Nehru University and all the problems that have been arising there would be solved.
“Give 10 percent seats in these universities for people from western Uttar Pradesh and everything will be cured,” said the Minister. He said that this was the “right cure” for students of (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia who were demonstrating and shouting anti-national slogans.
Addressing a public rally in favor of CAA in Meerut (UP), Balyan said, “I request Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, those at JNU and Jamia who shout anti-national slogans, there is only one cure for them. Have 10 percent quota from western UP and everyone will be cured and nothing else will be needed.”
“Where did these people come from? Why did they come out on the streets?” Balyan asked. He further said that this law of CAA was to give citizenship to the persecuted minorities of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
