New Delhi, July 01 (HS): Urging the medical fraternity to serve people with empathy and compassion, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that it is important to reach out to the downtrodden and marginalized sections of society with affordable healthcare. He also reminded them of the reverent manner in which doctors are treated by the people.
Interacting with a delegation of Delhi Medical Association on the occasion of Doctors Day, here today, Naidu called upon doctors to be pro-active in educating people, particularly the youth about the dangers of sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy food habits in view of the rise in non-communicable diseases.
Naidu further said that he wants doctors to visit nearby educational institutions in their respective localities and create awareness about the serious impact of a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet on the health of the people.
