SAARC hosted a video conference on COVID-19, Pak again struck the chord of Kashmir
New Delhi, March 16 (HS): The heads of SAARC countries, on Sunday discussed about the Coronavirus through video conferencing. During this time, Pakistan again raised the issue of Kashmir and spoke of ending the restrictions imposed on it.
Zafar Mirza participated in the video conference on behalf of Pakistan. Apart from Mirza, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohmed Solih, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Bhutan Prime Minister Lotte Schering, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani participated.
During conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested to create an emergency fund for Covid-19 and has announced to contribute give 10 million dollars from India. He also said, “our guiding mantra is – Be prepared, but do not panic.”
An immediate response was expressed from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan.
The purpose of this video conference was to come together to fight the Coronavirus. But taking advantage of this, Pakistan once again struck the chord of Kashmir.
It is noteworthy that the deadly Coronavirus outbreak originated in the city of Wuhan in China and is now spreading rapidly around the world. The World Health Organization has declared it an epidemic. A large number of people are getting infected and dying due to this and now this is affecting every area.
