Russia and Ukraine exchanged airstrikes, hitting key infrastructure just hours after Putin promised to stop targeting Ukraine’s energy sites.

Zelensky accused Russia of striking hospitals, rejecting a ceasefire during Putin’s call with Trump. Putin demanded Ukraine’s allies stop military aid, a condition already dismissed by European nations.

A Ukrainian drone attack ignited a fire at a Russian oil depot in Krasnodar. Meanwhile, Russian forces hit civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including a hospital in Sumy. Zelensky reported over 40 Russian drone attacks, damaging Ukraine’s energy sector and disrupting daily life.

Russia claimed to have intercepted 57 Ukrainian drones, with 35 over Kursk. In Belgorod, tensions remained high as Moscow reported repelling a Ukrainian ground assault.

Putin refused a full ceasefire, agreeing only to halt attacks on energy sites after his call with Trump. He also declined a month-long ceasefire proposed in Saudi Arabia.

US-led peace talks will continue in Jeddah on Sunday, according to envoy Steve Witkoff. Ukraine’s energy infrastructure remains heavily damaged by Russian attacks, while Kyiv continues drone and missile strikes deep into Russia, targeting oil and gas facilities.
