Richardson undergoes surgery due to shoulder injury
New Delhi,07 May(HS): Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson has undergone surgery due to a shoulder injury. The 23-year-old Richardson injured his right shoulder in the series played against Pakistan in March and after that, he was away from cricket for 6 months, due to which he missed the team from the World Cup and Ashes series.
After recovering from injury, he played only one match for Australia, in which he was seen battling his shoulders while fielding. The main reason behind the surgery was that he could recover completely from that injury in one go.
Cricket Australia’s sports science chief told the media, “When your shoulder is dislocated from its place, all the ligaments become loose and then surgery essentially involves tightening everything.”
He said, “This has happened in the past with many other players. We are hoping that this problem will heal quickly. The injury was very bad. Richardson put too much stress on his shoulder. It is probably not surprising because he is a fast bowler. He needs to take care of his shoulder objectively. “
Richardson has played a total of 34 matches for Australia, taking a total of 39 wickets.
