Lucknow,  12 April  (HS) :      The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is planning to promote the Sanskrit language in a big way. Reaffirming its commitment to popularise Sanskrit among the children and youth, the state government has formulated a plan to boost Sanskrit adoption at the grassroots level in Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan and State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT), will collectively run a campaign in which two master trainers will first be trained and later will be appointed at each block of the state to popularise Sanskrit in a proper way.

In order to make the teachers and students well-versed with the language, the master trainers will educate the teachers in all the state-run primary schools, who will further impart the knowledge to the students. The coaching process of the trainers for the first phase is already being conducted by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).

The Yogi Government of UP is sparing no efforts in promoting Sanskrit widely across the state. To upgrade the Sanskrit schools, it is pertinent to link the subject with modern relevance. For opening up the digital landscape of an advanced learning forum for students, the government has also worked by installing computers in over 200 sanskrit schools. With this, to increase the scope of Sanskrit language and to provide a better standard of learning to the students in sanskrit schools, the state government also introduced learning from NCERT books for students from classes 6 to 12.

This unique initiative of Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan and State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT), will play a major role in making the students in the primary schools well-versed with the Sanskrit Language and will also enable them in speaking Sanskrit fluently. DIET will also be conducting training and various competitions online which will enable active participation of the teachers and students.

Teachers in state-run Primary Schools to be trained

According to Acharya Dr. Vachaspati Mishra, President of Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, it is essential to provide proper Sanskrit education to the children right from the primary level.

For provision of better Sanskrit education to children in primary schools, it has been agreed to conduct Sanskrit language training camp for teachers from 68 DIET centers in the state. In the first phase, as many as 100 teachers from every DIET center will be imparted training in Sanskrit. In this way, about 6800 teachers of the state will gain better knowledge of Sanskrit. After the 14-day long training, the teachers will be trained enough to impart proper sanskrit education to the children studying in primary schools.

“In the 72 Sanskrit Schools of the state, the students will be imparted Sanskrit language training from a five-day online computer course”, said Dr. Mishra.

Last year, computers were installed by the UP Sanskrit Sansthan in Sanskrit schools in 72 districts. Computers in remaining schools in the state will also be installed by the Sanskrit Sansthan this year.
