Regular electric train operation in Bharatpur-Bandikui section from April
PRAYAGRAJ, March 14 (HS): General Manager NCR and NER Vinay Kumar Tripathi reviewed status of high priority electrification project of Bharatpur-Bandikui section on Sunday. This meeting organized in NCR HQ, Prayagraj was attended by PCEE Satish Kothari, PCOM Ravi Valluri and other officers of electrical and traffic department of NCR while DRM Agra Sushil Kumar Srivastava and Railway electrification project officials participated through video conference. 150 Kms section between Agra Cantt.-Bandikui has average daily interchange of 24 train between NCR and NWR. Seamless electric train operation in this section will cut down detentions for traction change from diesel to electric and will improve mobility of trains substantially.
During the review meeting a presentation covering all items for regular electric train operation in this section was made by CEDE NCR. Critical items like commissioning of Traction substations, feeding posts, centralized SCADA control system, power supply augmentation etc. were discussed and target dates for completion were finalized. Reviewing progress, GM stressed that all critical works of this electrification project must be completed on time to reap full benefit of electrification.
North Central Railway is all set to operate regular electric trains in this section from beginning of April’21 and complete switch over to electric traction shall be achieved in graded manner. This will reduce detention of trains drastically by avoiding traction change apart from being environment friendly and economical. Besides this section, commissioning of electrification in 113 RKM between Bhandai-Udimore is also targeted for completion within this month.
