Regional Meteorological Centre organises Users’ Meet on Aviation Meteorological Services

During the inaugural function Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, DDGM, RMC Guwahati welcomed the participants and stressed on to gain knowledge as much as from the Users’ meet.

Guwahati, Oct.24 (HS): Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati has organised Users’ Meet on Aviation Meteorological Services on 24th October 2019.
On the occasion several users from aviation industry, Indian Air Force, AAI, NDRF, CAD, BCAS participated. During the inaugural function Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, DDGM, RMC Guwahati welcomed the participants and stressed on to gain knowledge as much as from the Users’ meet.
Thereafter Sanjeev Jindal, Regional Executive Director, NER, AAI, Guwahati who was the Chief Guest of the meet, addressed the gathering and explained the importance of meteorological services in aviation sector and use of same in different aspects of life.
While, Ramesh Kumar, Airport Director, LGBI airport, Guwahati was Guest-of-Honour of the function. He shared his experience about the importance of Aviation meteorology in flight planning and operations.
During technical session, Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw explained in detail about Aviation Services rendered by IMD. Sunit Das, Scientist-E explained about adverse weather conditions which affect flight operations. Atul Singh, Scientist-C explained Online Briefing System for aviation (OLBS) dedicated portal of IMD for Aviation Services. Ashish Kumar, Scientist-B discussed instrumentation aspect of Aviation meteorology. Vote of thanks was given by Tapan Banik, Meteorologist.
