Railways cancels many trains due to farmers’ agitation in Haryana and Punjab
New Delhi, 27 September (H.S): Rail operations in Delhi, Ambala and Ferozepur divisions have been affected on Monday due to farmers agitating against three agricultural laws. Railways has canceled several trains including the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi.
Many trains connected to Delhi have also been affected due to the agitators sitting on the tracks at many places in Punjab. Railways has canceled many trains leaving Delhi due to this. The other trains included New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi, New Delhi Amritsar- Shan-e-Punjab, New Delhi- Moga, Old Delhi- Pathankot. Apart from this, the Vande Bharat Express to Katra – departed from New Delhi at 6 am but is standing at Panipat station.
Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar said rail operations were affected in Delhi, Ambala and Ferozepur divisions as protesters were sitting on railway tracks. He said that jam is being imposed at more than 20 places in Delhi division. Around 25 trains have been affected in Ambala and Ferozepur divisions.
