New Delhi, Dec 24(HS): Private trains will now run across the country. The Railway Ministry aims to run 150 private trains across the country. According to the exclusive information received from the sources, the bidding process for 150 trains will start in the next week. For this, the Ministry of Railways has prepared RFQ(A request for quotation). Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is operating the country’s first private train Tejas Express.
According to information received from sources, 150 trains will be bid for two parts. Qualification bids will be called by private companies. Both domestic and foreign companies will participate in this bid. Route and revenue will be discussed with qualified bidders.
According to information received from sources, the auction process will be completed in 6 months. The government aims to run private trains in 2021-22. Private companies will also be allowed to bring foreign coaches. Along with this, the company will also have the right to decide rent and food.
