Punjab to organize state level mega job fairs from September

Chandigarh, July 8 (H.S.) : The Punjab Government has decided to organize 5th State Level Mega Job Fairs from September 19, 2019. An announcement in regard to this was made during a meeting of the consultative group formed by the Chief Minster Captain Amarinder Singh for employment generation here today which was presided over by Technical Education & Employment Generation Minister  Charanjit Singh Channi. Other members of the group included  Sunder Sham Arora Industries Minister,  Surjit Singh Dhiman MLA,  Sanjay Talwar,  Hardayal Singh Kamboj MLA,  Gurpreet Singh GP MLA and  Angad Saini MLA.

The Minister said that 5th State Level Mega Job Fair would be organized from 19th September to September 30, 2019 with an aim to facilitate at least 1 Lac placements & 1 Lac self-employment loans to youth. He said that the state level job fairs would be organised across the state in all districts at 75 venues across the state. ‘2nd International Job Fair would also be organised within six month,’ added Channi.

The Consultative Group congratulated the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for successfully organising 4 State Level Mega Job Fairs and one International Job Fair. The minister also informed the members that this employment drive is continuously going on in the state and about 8.21 lac youth has been provided government/private/self employment till date.

The Minister also informed the consultative group that the Punjab Government under the ‘Punjab Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Misssion’ is soon launching a ‘Punjab Job Helpline’ to reach out to every unemployed to assist him to provide job or self employment. Mr. Channi also informed the group that the Punjab Government is in a process of developing a mechanism for providing Foreign Employment & Foreign Study facilitation.
