Pune wall collapses at midnight, 6 die, 4 injured

Mumbai,July. 2(HS): There has been a massive devastation in Mumbai  and surrounding areas in the last two days due to heavy rains. At least 6 people have lost their lives after a wall of Sinhgad College, Ambegaon collapsed at around 1:15 am today at night. NDRF teams have reached the spot and relief and rescue work is in progress. Apart from this, 6 people have also died in Pune.
A total of 31 people have died including Mumbai and Pune. A scorpio car was trapped in it by filling water in Mumbai’s Malad subway. For this reason, two people died. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed condolences for the families of those killed in the rain and announced compensation of five lakhs for the dependents of the dead.  In view of this, the administration has declared the public holiday today and urged people not to come out of the house without any need.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in many parts of the state in the next 24 hours. After the warning of the Department, public holiday has been announced today in Mumbai . The number of dead is expected to increase in this accident. The injured have been admitted to Jogaeshwari’s Trama Center and Kandivali’s Shatabdi Hospital.
Local people said that local people saved some people even before the fire brigade and NDRF teams reached the spot.
The second incident of wall collapse with heavy rains took place at night at 12.30 pm in Kalyan adjacent to Mumbai. Here, the wall of the compound of National Urdu High School fell in which 3 people were killed. Some people lived next to this wall. Four people have been injured in this accident. Police, fire brigade and rescue team reached the spot. Rescue team removed 4 people from the debris, 3 of them had died.
Among the dead, a child of 3 years is also included. The people injured in the accident are being treated at Rukmini Bai Hospital in Kalyan.
