Priyanka Gandhi’s Assets at ₹12 Crore; Husband Robert Vadra’s Worth 5 Times Higher

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has declared assets worth nearly ₹12 crore, while her husband, Robert Vadra, holds assets totaling around ₹66 crore, according to her recent poll affidavit filed in Wayanad. This marks the first public disclosure of the Vadra couple’s asset values.

Priyanka’s most valuable asset is her 12,000 sq ft farmhouse near Shimla, which she values at ₹5.64 crore. Additionally, she owns a Honda CRV worth ₹8 lakh, described in the affidavit as “a gift from spouse.” She has mutual funds valued at ₹2.24 crore and jewellery worth ₹1.16 crore. Furthermore, Priyanka co-owns agricultural land in Mehrauli with her brother Rahul Gandhi, valued at ₹2.10 crore.

The affidavit also reveals that Priyanka has contested reassessment proceedings initiated by the Income Tax (I-T) Department for her 2012-13 return. This demand totals ₹15.75 lakh and is currently pending before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals).

In contrast, Robert Vadra’s wealth significantly surpasses Priyanka’s. He owns a Land Cruiser valued at ₹53 lakh, a Mini Cooper worth ₹1.5 lakh, and a Suzuki motorcycle priced at ₹4.22 lakh. Moreover, he is a partner in several limited liability partnerships, totaling ₹35.5 crore in assets. These partnerships include Blue Breeze Trading LLP, North India IT Park LLP, and Sky Light Hospitality LLP, with a balance of ₹31.93 crore in the last LLP.

Vadra also possesses properties in Gurugram valued at ₹27.64 crore. He purchased these for ₹2.78 crore and has since invested ₹3.62 crore in their development. However, he also carries liabilities amounting to nearly ₹10 crore, as noted in Priyanka’s poll affidavit.

Additionally, the affidavit states that the I-T Department began assessment proceedings on March 28, 2023, concerning returns filed by Vadra from 2010 to 2021. The total tax demand raised against him amounts to ₹80 crore. The most significant claim is ₹24.16 crore for the assessment year 2019-20. Priyanka’s affidavit mentions that these assessments are under appeal before the CIT (A).

In terms of income, Vadra reported ₹15.09 lakh for the fiscal year 2023-24, a steep drop from ₹55.58 lakh declared for 2019-20. Meanwhile, Priyanka declared an income of ₹46.39 lakh in the last financial year, showcasing their contrasting financial standings.
