Lucknow, 18 March (HS) : As the coronavirus cases rise in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released some guidelines to prevent further transmission of the deadly virus.
Addressing a high-level meeting, on Thursday, the CM said that in view of the Panchayat election and Holi festival, antigen tests must be made mandatory at railway stations, airports, bus stations etc. He also asked the officials to increase RTPCR tests in the state.
Under the visionary leadership of CM Yogi, Uttar Pradesh has become the only state to conduct about 33 lakh vaccination.
Describing the COVID-19 vaccine as ‘precious’, the CM said here today that we must assure that not a single vial of vaccine is wasted. “Immunisation of the concerned citizen should be ensured on the scheduled date of vaccination,” he stated.
It is to be known that earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his concern over emerging statistics of COVID-19 vaccine wastage in the country.
The officials have been directed to ensure that people wear masks when in the public and keep a distance of six feet.
COVID Hospitals Should Be Kept Active
During the COVID review meeting the CM said that all the dedicated COVID hospitals should be kept active in the state. Surveillance teams and contract tracing were important in the strategy of the Yogi government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
In a populous state like UP, contact tracing teams have reached out to a population of 18 crores, which needs to be fastened and strengthened, he said.
Focus Testing
In view of the growing number of coronavirus infections, focus testing is being done across the state. Keeping in view, the festival of Holi, samples of colours, spray guns, snacks, people working in restaurants, stalls, liquor shop, etc. are being taken.
