President gives nod for MCD integration
New Delhi, 19th April (H.S.)| President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday approved the integration of all of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi.
The president gave his assent to all the four Acts including the Criminal Procedure Recognition and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (Amendment) Act 2022, which facilitates the merging of the North, South and East Corporation of Delhi and make it one entity. It will now be called by its old name, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and the government shall appoint a special officer to discharge the functions of the Corporation.
In addition, the President approved the Criminal Procedure (Identity) Act 2022 with aims to authorize the collection of identifying information and preservation of records of convicts and other persons for the purpose of identification and investigation in criminal cases.
Chartered Accountant, Cost and Works Accountant, Company Secretary (Amendment) Act and Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Act 2022 was also approved by the President.
