Prayer ceremony before Amarnath Yatra completes
Jammu, July 05, (HS) The special prayer ceremony that takes place before the yearly Amarnath Yatra was completed, today. Deputy Governor Girish Chandra Murmu offered prayers along with other officials. The Amarnath Cave situated 13,000 feet above sea level has a12 feet thin structured ‘Himlinga’ (Shivalinga made of ice) instead of a thick one this year.
With respect to Covid-19 guidelines only people below the age of 55, except small children, can participate in the yatra starting from July 21 as old people are not allowed.
Also as per Amarnath Shrine Board, people will have to carry their Covid-19 negative certificate before travelling. All devotees will be screened for Corona at Jammu base camp. Except saints everyone will have to register themselves online. This time the yatra will be via Northen Kashmir’s Baltal road and not from Pahalgam road.
