Police Sub-inspector shot dead in Agra

Lucknow,  24 March (HS) :        A police Sub-inspector was shot dead by some miscreants in Agra on Wednesday. The police team of Khandauli police station had gone to a village to resolve a crop related dispute when the incident took place.

ADG Agra Zone Satish Ganesh said that a police team led by Sub-inpector Prashant Yadav had gone to Naharra villllage under Khandauli PS to resolve the dispute when they were attacked. The injured sub-inspector was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not survive. The miscreants after committing the crime fled away from the scene, the ADG said.

Following the incident senior police officers rushed to the spot and investigations are on.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth has expressed deepest condolences on the sad demise of Sub Inspector Prashant Yadav on duty in Agra. The CM has announced Rs 50 lakhs to the bereaved family and a government job to a dependant and road to be named after shaheed Sub inspector Prashant, informs Additional Chief Secretary Home, Awanish Awasthi.
