Police arrest two bookies and seized Rs 1.52 lakh

Hyderabad, July 3 (HS): Hyderabad Police has busted a betting racket by arresting two bookies who were collecting amount from punters.

On credible information police raided and arrested two accused namely Jhawar Venugopal and Ravi Narayan while they were collecting huge betting amounts from agents on the match between India Vs Bangladesh played at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

Police seized Rs 1.52 lakh, two cell phones, betting amount collection receipts of punters from the possession of the accused persons. Further investigation is in process.
