PM Modi will inaugurate development schemes worth ₹4,500 crore in Delhi today. These include 1,675 flats for slum dwellers, two urban redevelopment projects, and key initiatives at Delhi University.

At Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, the Prime Minister will hand over keys to beneficiaries of the slum rehabilitation project. The central government spends ₹25 lakh on each flat. Beneficiaries pay only ₹1.42 lakh as a nominal contribution and ₹30,000 for five years of maintenance.

In a push for education infrastructure, the PM will lay the foundation stones for three new projects at Delhi University. These include academic blocks in East Delhi’s Surajmal Vihar and Dwarka’s Western Campus. A state-of-the-art Veer Savarkar College will also be built at Roshanpura, Najafgarh, costing over ₹600 crore.

PM Modi will also inaugurate the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar and GPRA type-II quarters at Sarojini Nagar. These projects aim to improve the living standards of JJ cluster residents by providing modern facilities and healthier environments.

The BJP-led government’s development push comes just months before Delhi Assembly elections in February 2025. By addressing housing and infrastructure challenges, the Centre hopes to make a significant impact on urban voters.
