PM Modi to Address Rally in Jammu and Kashmir
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address public rallies in Srinagar and Katra on Thursday, following a 59 percent voter turnout in the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The BJP is pushing to gather support for its candidates in the Valley, where the party has not yet won a seat.
The rally will be held at Sher-e-Kashmir Park in Srinagar, with around 30,000 party workers and supporters expected to attend. Senior BJP Leader Mohammad Anwar Khan will oversee the event as the rally in-charge.
The BJP has nominated candidates for 19 out of the 47 seats in Kashmir, which is less than a third of the total seats and fewer than the 2014 assembly elections. Despite this reduced number of candidates, the party remains determined to establish a stronger presence in the Valley and win the trust of the people.
The assembly elections will occur in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1. The vote counting will take place on October 8.
The Thursday rally is a crucial part of the BJP’s election strategy, as it seeks to secure a majority. The event will also allow Prime Minister Modi to connect with the people of Kashmir, addressing their concerns and aspirations.
The rally’s success could significantly influence the election’s results and shape the future political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. By organizing this rally, the BJP aims to solidify its position in the region and win its first seats in the Valley.
