PM Modi Thanks President Putin for Russia’s Warm Hospitality
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for Russia’s warm hospitality during his visit to Kazan for the BRICS summit. Calling the event productive, Modi emphasized the significance of his participation and the fruitful discussions held with various world leaders.
Arriving in Kazan, Modi attended high-level meetings with Russian officials and participated in bilateral talks. During these discussions, the Prime Minister highlighted shared interests between India and Russia, aiming to strengthen strategic ties. Modi took to Instagram, stating, “The BRICS summit in Kazan was very fruitful. I got the opportunity to discuss various issues and meet world leaders. I thank President Putin, the people of Russia, and the government for their hospitality.”
On the sidelines of the BRICS summit, Modi also met Chinese President Xi Jinping. This marked an important moment in India-China relations, as Jinping agreed in principle to Modi’s suggestions for improving bilateral ties. According to a report from China’s Xinhua News Agency, Jinping emphasized the importance of maintaining strong strategic perceptions between the two nations. The meeting represents a step forward in enhancing communication and cooperation between India and China.
In addition to his meetings with Russian and Chinese leaders, Modi met with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Both leaders reviewed progress on bilateral cooperation, including trade, health, and technology. Modi shared his positive sentiments about the meeting on social media platform X, describing it as excellent. India’s Ministry of External Affairs echoed these remarks, highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.
Furthermore, Modi engaged in discussions with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting reinforced the strong ties between India and the UAE, with both leaders expressing satisfaction with their discussions.
Modi’s active participation in these bilateral meetings underscores India’s commitment to fostering global partnerships. The BRICS summit in Kazan provided a platform to strengthen relationships with key global players, enhancing cooperation across sectors like trade, technology, and diplomacy.
